Kennedy International Airport to Northwest Florida Regional Airport launches this spring, opening direct access to the coastal communities along Scenic Highway 30A.

The service, which begins May 2, will operate daily through early September on JetBlue Airways. The flight covers approximately 1,100 miles and takes roughly three hours, a significant improvement over previous routing that required connections through hubs like Atlanta or Charlotte.

The 30A Region Draws Coastal Comparisons

Highway 30A stretches 24 miles along the Florida Panhandle between Destin and Panama City Beach, threading through sixteen distinct beach communities. The area has earned comparisons to the Hamptons due to its white sand beaches, upscale dining, boutique shopping, and Mediterranean-revival architecture.

Seaside, one of the most recognized towns along 30A, served as the filming location for “The Truman Show” and helped establish the New Urbanist architectural movement in the 1980s. The addition of JFK service represents the airport’s first direct connection to the New York metropolitan area, the largest media market in the United States. Airport officials have indicated the route responds to demonstrated demand, though specific passenger projections have not been released.
