Babylon, NY (MorichesDaily) – Officials say a small single-engine plane made an emergency landing at Robert Moses State Park Long Island Saturday morning.

George Gorman of the New York State Parks Department says the plane landed in a remote section of the park.

The plane landed at Robert Moses State Park in Babylon on the roadway near Field 5 at Robert Moses State Park.

Boaz Eidelberg, 69, of Smithtown, said he rented the Cessna 172R at Long Island MacArthur Airport in Islip to practice some flying techniques shortly before 8 a.m.

Authorities say the pilot was experiencing some sort of mechanical problem and safely put his plane down at about 8:40 a.m.

No one in the aircraft or on the ground was injured.
