Manhunt In New York City After Police Car Was Stolen In New Jersey

NEW YORK (MorichesDaily) – Police are conducting a manhunt in upper Manhattan Friday after a suspect stole an unmarked police car in New Jersey and drove it across the George Washington Bridge into New York City.

The suspect name is Juan Mendez but he may go by the alias of Eduardo Santiago Carrasquillo, police said.

The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous, authorities said.

The man is described as Hispanic with brown or black hair, standing between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot tall, and weighing between 200 and 230 pounds. Police estimate he is between 25 and 35 years old.

Shots were fired at the suspect but it is not known at this time if he was injured.

Police believe they have recovered the unmarked police car at 125th Street and Riverside Avenue.

The gray four-door Audi was stolen at a motel in Fort Lee.

Authorities had been searching for the car an hour or so before it was found.

Police, K-9 units and helicopters are searching for the suspect, who fled the scene, possibly on foot.

    GTA at it’s best. You have to be absolutely mad to steal a police car. Do these people really think they will get away with it, or are they just looking for a final thrill before going to prison?
