Man Seriously Injured In Huntington Car Accident

A driver was seriously hurt Wednesday morning in Huntington when his car was hit by a motorist trying to make a left turn, Suffolk police said.


Huntington, NY (MorichesDaily) – Suffolk County Police said a driver was seriously hurt Wednesday morning in Huntington when his car was hit by a motorist trying to make a left turn.

Nathaniel Eikenes, 22, of Huntington, was driving a Volkswagen going south on Park Avenue just as a Chrysler minivan heading northbound made a left onto Jericho Turnpike, police said.

The two crashed just before 8:30 a.m., and Eikenes was taken to Huntington Hospital in serious condition, police said.

Eikenes was in serious condition in the intensive care unit at the hospital, Second Squad detectives said.

The Chrysler’s driver, Thomas Depalo, 37, of Dix Hills, and his two children, ages 4 and 7, were treated at Huntington Hospital and released, police said.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and they are asking that anyone with information may call detectives at 631-854-8252.
