NEW YORK (MorichesDaily) – Sixty-eight animals including 30 dogs were rescued from a blaze in a Staten Island home Friday Evening.
Fire officials say the fire was in a two-story house and it was quickly extinguished in about a half hour.
No humans or animals were injured in the blaze.
Officials say the owner of the single-family home was a hoarder who collected animals as well as trash.
Some of the animals were kept in a yard next to the house.
Besides the dogs, it’s not clear what other types of animals were rescued.
Animal Care and Control officers removed them to a shelter, according to the Fire Department.
Fire marshals are investigating the cause of the blaze.
