NEW YORK (MorichesDaily) — Meredith Vieira, who is substituting on Today for Kathie Lee Gifford, home recovering from a root canal, came back from commercial this morning with a loud, “Oh, Sh*t!”
Vieira was getting ready for an interview with Al Roker when she dropped one of her cards.
Vieira said “oh sh*t” before covering her mouth and gasping.
Co-host Hoda Kotb apologized for the incident, through laughter, while Al Roker celebrated Vieira’s slip.
“Just go ahead and put it on Gawker immediately,” Hoda joked. “Little late for a bleep,” she added when the censor bleeped well after the fact.
The segment’s guest — Al Roker (who was there to discuss how he’s sustained his incredible weight loss) — didn’t hold back his delight in his former “Today” costar’s gaffe and busted out laughing while throwing his arms up in the air in excitement as if she’d scored a touchdown.
Vieira and Kotb have been a little loose lipped over the last few days.
Ironically, the subject of cursing had come up earlier in the broadcast when Meredith and Hoda appeared in a promo segment on the plaza with Matt Lauer, who cornered Hoda about her own alleged “S-bomb” from yesterday’s show.
On Wednesday’s show, Kotb allegedly said “sh*t” after a little dog wiggled out of her arms.

“No cursing today?” Lauer teased Hoda, saying he thought he heard something slip on Wednesday’s show after a squirmy pup wiggled out of Hoda’s arm during a pet segment.
But Hoda immediately fired back, “I did not curse! “No, no, no…”
Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time that the classy host let a curse word slip on live TV. In 2010 Vieira was filming a segment about a driving simulation when she let the curse word fly after crashing.
