Man Shot To Death in Flanders Home After Break-In

FLANDERS, NY (MorichesDaily) — A Flanders man was shot and killed by armed men who broke into his home early Sunday morning, Suffolk County Police said.

Suffolk police said Southampton Town Police went to 200 Priscilla Ave. after receiving a call at around 3:15 a.m. reporting armed men who had broken into the home and shot a man.

Police found Demitri Hampton, 21, at the home suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Hampton, who lived at the home, was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police say an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
