Man Arrested for DWI after Causing Other Vehicle to Crash into Bay Shore Home
Dec. 16, 2012 Bay Shore NY (MorichesDaily) — Suffolk County Police arrested a Brentwood man for driving while intoxicated last night after he crashed into another vehicle and caused it to crash into an occupied home in Bay Shore.
Trijidio Valle was driving a 1997 Dodge van northbound on Taylor Avenue and turned east onto Pineaire Drive where he crossed over into the oncoming lane of traffic and struck a Metropolitan Transit Authority work truck that was travelling west on Pineaire Drive.
The driver of the MTA truck lost control of the vehicle and struck an occupied home at 516 Pineaire Drive. The truck driver and one resident in the home suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Valle initially fled the scene of the crash on foot but he was located a short distance away, near Jackson Street, by responding officers. Valle, 30, of 327 Hancock St., Brentwood, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle.
The resident of the home and the driver of the MTA truck were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
The home sustained substantial damage and Islip Town building inspectors responded to inspect the residence.
Valle is being held at the Third Precinct and will be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.
