Babylon, NY (MorichesDaily) – A Brentwood man was charged in three bank robberies Friday, but police say an another serial bank robber may be still on the loose as our area has seen a rash of bank holdups, Suffolk police said. George Swanton, 54, of Brentwood, was arrested only 20-minutes after he was suspected of holding up the Chase branch on West Main Street in Babylon, police said. Police broadcast the robber’s description shortly after noon on Friday and shortly after two First Precinct officers found him nearby on Railroad Avenue, police said. Swanton was scheduled to be arraigned Saturday on two counts of third-degree robbery in the Chase holdup; two counts for Tuesday’s robbery at a Bank of America branch on Montauk Highway in West Islip; and one count for the Jan. 11 holdup of a Citibank branch...
